Neutrogena Deep Clean Review

I’m generally a fan of Neutrogena overall. As most of you did (I’m guessing anyway), I grew up with Neutrogena from my early teens onward. As most girls at 12 or 13 start fighting that dreaded acne onset in middle school, I’m willing to bet that a lot of you remember back when Neutrogena used to come in nothing but that big orange bar of acne soap!

But does one of Neutrogena’s latest products match up to their reputation? Enough reminiscing about middle school and getting angry that ‘Tommy Johnson’ never called you back after you signed his yearbook, let’s get to the review!

neutrogena deep clean

Neutrogena deep clean is billed as the ‘next generation’ of facial cleansers. On their web site, Neutrogena claim that it “goes deep down to pores to clear out impurities and absorbing built-up oil at the source”. Neutrogena deep clean is actually intended to be used both as a facial cleanser as well as a mask.

Well, we followed the instructions to the letter, using it once a day as a cleanser and sporadically using it as a three minute mask a few times a week. You simply apply a bit more of it then you would when you’re using it as a cleanser and then allow it to dry on your face (they say for three minutes, we always found it to be more around five minutes or so for the mask to be completely dried).

Overall, it’s not that bad as a basic facial cleanser, and certainly doesn’t leave your skin feeling oily. And it’s a bit of a more gentle feeling cleanser that some, but we didn’t find that it really works as well as some of Neutrogena’s other products, namely their ‘Oil Free Acne Wash’. It’s a orange colored (who would have guessed) liquid acne cleanser that comes in a pump dispenser.

Although Neutrogena’s Oil Free Acne Wash may leave your skin feeling a little dry (just for a few minutes after use), we still find it to be a much better cleanser, especially for those of you who have somewhat more oily skin, acne outbreaks or sweat more.
